Director and Co-Founder
Before establishing Bank House Care Homes Ltd, I started my career in Nursing and Social work in London and worked in different roles before moving into a Deputy Management role in residential care. My desire to progress led me into Mental Health and into a Registered Manager’s role of a mental health and substance misuse unit in Retford.
My passion to excel and learn has resulted in my successfully gaining an NVQ Level 4 in Care, City and Guilds Assessors Award and a Register Manager’s award ,as well as achieving multiple diplomas in Dementia care leading me to become a Specialist in Dementia care.
My development has helped me to progress from Deputy Manager to Care Home Manager to Operational Manager of Bank House Care Homes Ltd and ultimately into my current role of Owner/ Director of Bank House Care Homes Ltd.
I was also an NVQ Assessor for all levels within the company’s NVQ centre.
Born and bred in Sutton in Ashfield, I began working in care homes at the age of 16 and have worked in different roles at different grades. This has ultimately led me to successfully progressing up the career ladder to Home Manager.
To attain this progression, I have undertaken and successfully gained several qualifications in various subjects including a Diploma in Dementia Care.
I am a qualified trainer in Medication and MAPA (the management of actual or potential aggression), NVQ level 2 and 3.
I have excellent in knowledge mental capacity and protecting vulnerable adults and a real passion for helping people and making them feel like a real person and not just someone with an illness.
Out of work: I enjoy spending time cycling and taking my two dogs on walks.
I started my career in the Banking industry before taking time out to complete a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management. I joined Bank House Care Homes Ltd as the Human Resources Manager bringing specialist knowledge and experience into safe recruitment of employees, training, employee relations, trade unions negotiations and performance management.
My aim is to source highly motivated staff for our homes, ensuring the best possible training and support for staff to deliver exceptional and passionate person-centred care to our residents. Creating the best possible environment for our residents to thrive gives me the biggest kick.
Out of work: I am married with two lovely girls and am heavily involved in supporting my local church and some faith based charities.
